Shave 'Em to Save 'Em

Did you know that Five Sisters Farm participates in the Livestock Conservancy's program to help conserve and promote heritage wool breeds? We are listed in their directory as a fiber producer, which helps connect fiber artists with farms that have registered breeds on the conservation list. Shetland sheep are making a comeback and are now listed as a Recovering Breed.

How it works: fiber artists register in the program and receive a passport in which they collect stickers from different wool breeds participating in the program. A sticker is earned by purchasing 4 ounces of fiber (fleece, roving, yarn) from a participating producer. The artist then completes a project with each fiber type and turns in photos to earn prizes.
